Synopsis:

A crossroad between the city of Buenos Aires and its suburbs, where thousands pass by every night after work. Buses, traffic lights, a rusty sign, streetlights and ads for phones and hamburgers. Someone heading to school, another one selling bread. A lady selling flowers, trash scattered on the pavement. Amidst this, the story of a mother who lost her son at the hands of the police stands in stark contrast to the image of normality.

Curatorial note:

“He must have traveled everywhere, at least in spirit.” The film emerges from a poetic dive into the borders of the outskirts of Buenos Aires, which carries echoes of Luciano Arruga’s murder—perpetrated by a government that constantly denies systematizing selective repression. Through the account of his mother, Mónica, a political and aesthetic imaginary is enabled, which opens up a path to think about the future of teenagers by means of Art and struggle. Todo documento de civilización is a cinematic barricade, an appeal to the democratic principles, because a country is not only defined by what it does, but by what it tolerates. Mario Manríquez
