Curatorial note:

In the Islamic Republic of Iran, women are forbidden to dance in public as it is considered an indecent act. Of course, this restriction does not apply to men. Illustrating part of this inequality from the beginning of the film, Shahed weaves a profound and radical plot that explores this social imbalance through Tarlan, a woman that attempts to challenge the status quo that has surrounded her for decades.
