Synopsis:

The Rivadavia Hospital has a direct connection with the Sociedad de Damas de Beneficencia, as it is part of its legacy. In the historical book commemorating the work of this organization, visual discourses from the early 20th century emphasize dissidents’ designated place in society at that time. Today, the possibility of picturing new futures beyond what we know may be the best form of resistance.

Curatorial note:

‘Imagination is our resistance.’ A political essay that fabulates around archives and introduces us to the commendable labor of a group of women who, over 120 years ago, resisted the patriarchal hound and managed to move forward collectively in their pursuit of closing the social gap affecting women and children in vulnerable situations. Through historical archives, diverse objects, and immersive sound work, the director reflects on collective remembrance and other possible futures. Mario Manríquez
