In 2013, Argentina’s Gender Identity Law was passed. This was a historic milestone, a forerunner of the passing of more trans rights internationally. This was possible due to the activism and fight of the LGBT+ community, although many did not live to see it. However, those who are still fighting have given their testimony to go over the history of this outstanding achievement that sets an example worldwide.

Rights cannot advance without social movements, and there can be no social movements without people who conform them. We often take them for granted, or assume that they just happen out of the blue.
