There is a myth that Costa Rica has a predominantly white population. Through a railroad trip, we get to know the invisible communities of Costa Rica. Maritza—a Nicaraguan single mother, exiled in Costa Rica due to socio-political conflicts in her country—lives in a marginalized community on the outskirts of the capital. Emerita Bejarano left Panama to work on coffee plantations. Janis Howlet, an Afro-antillean woman, lives in an abandoned village where opportunities are scarce.
