An essay film on the construction of an American identity. Woven from images that were filmed over the past 16 years by the filmmaker after moving to Buenos Aires – workers rebuilding a sandbox in a town square, marches and protests, the city seen from a bus window, family life –, and interviews that he recorded with his father in New York, where he grew up during the Great Depression. The documentary aims to build a bridge between his two worlds: Buenos Aires and New York.
