By necessity and especially by the force of machines, we have become sleepwalking beings deprived of God, the damned of the Earth and test subjects of the black market of history and of machines. Congolese artists Tétshim and Frank Mukunday’s Machini is an animated movie that uses the stop motion technique to expose the exploitation of mine workers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These mines produce cobalt and lithium, two essential elements for electronic devices.
