Many Mexican grandmothers have one thing in common: they were “stolen” and, as a consequence of those times’ sexism, forced to marry their abductors. This is the story of Esperanza, a woman who tells us how she was stolen at 19 years old, how she was forced to marry her abductor, and how, many years later, she found her freedom.
